Round-tripping with Velocity

Hi,
 
We wanted to do some Java code generation from UML (xmi) using Velocity.
Just want to know whether Velocity supports round-tripping in case of 
regeneration of code (by preserving the programmer coded portions of the file).
If this is supported, where can I find the documentation for that.
