Hi, I am new to this list. I just want to check on the Velocity Tools 3.0 roadmap. We are a heavy user of Velocity in our content management products and I'd like to see a stable version of Velocity Tools 3.0 released as soon as possible. We hadn't updated in years and after doing so, have realized that the Tools release is lagging a bit behind the Engine. We use the generic tools via the ToolManager, not the VelocityView features, so interest is higher there.

My question is what is blocking the 3.0 release? Is it purely the stories assigned to the release or do these bugs need cleared as well? We don't have a ton of resources, but we can contribute. I want to make sure that we are contributing on the most important things to help get to a stable official Tools 3.0 release as soon as possible.
