The Apache Velocity team is pleased to announce the release of Velocity
Engine 2.4
Velocity is a Java-based template engine which provides a simple yet
powerful template language to reference objects defined in Java code.
This is a maintenance release. Main changes:
- Fixed an overzealous string to number conversion which induced a
performance loss.
- Refactoring of the spring-velocity-support module.
- Review of DataSourceResourceLoader for thread safety.
- Added Java 16 record field property getters mapping.
For a full list of changes, please visit the Velocity Engine 2.4 Change
section [1] and the JIRA changelog [2].
For notes on upgrading from Velocity Engine 2.3, see Velocity Engine
Upgrading section [3].
Velocity Engine 2.4 is available in a binary and a source distribution [4].

It is also available in the central Maven repository under the
'org.apache.velocity' group id.
Please feel free to test the distribution and post your comments to the
