Till Westmann commented on VXQUERY-133:
---------------------------------------
When you download VXQuery, you are just downloading the source code that you
will have to build on your machine to be able to run.
The instructions are here: http://vxquery.apache.org/user_installation.html
Unfortunately they are a bit out of date, you'll have to remove "-incubating"
everywhere it appears.
After building successfully the file vxquery-cli/target/appassembler/bin/vxq
should exist. However, I think that nobody ever has tried to build/run VXQuery
on a Windows, so that might fail in other places as well. If you'd like to try
to make it work, it would be good for you to subscribe to the dev mailing list
(more info is here: http://vxquery.apache.org/mail-lists.html) to discuss
potential issues that might come up and solutions to them.

> I use windows. I downloaded and unzipped apache-vxquery-0.4. In git bash, I
> cd 'ed to unzipped apache-vxquery-0.4 folder, and ran
> sh vxquery-cli/target/appassembler/bin/vxq on it. But it did not recognize
> the path. Am I using the wrong path?
