Hi everyone! I’m Matthaios, a final year CS student in the Netherlands and I recently started looking into Apache Wayang ahead of GSoC 2026. I’ve been reading through the docs and browsing the repo and I’m really interested in getting involved!
The Dataframe API idea <https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/WAYANG-53?jql=labels%20%3D%20gsoc2026> for GSoC 2026 sounds very interesting and potentially impactful, but more generally I’d just like to start contributing and learning how the project works. I have also gone through the docs about contributing and I’m happy to begin with small tasks, (documentation, testing etc) or anything that helps get familiar with the codebase and the community. If anyone can suggest a good place to start, I’d really appreciate a pointer! (already taking a look at Jira; just not sure if that's the right place to start). Thanks! Matthaios
