Hi Wayang Developers, My name is Makarand Hinge, and I am interested in contributing to Apache Wayang as part of Google Summer of Code 2026.
I am particularly interested in the project idea “Implement a JDBC driver for Wayang.” I have already started contributing to the project and submitted two pull requests that are currently under review. Working on these has helped me get familiar with the codebase and development workflow. Last week, I reached out to Zoi Kaoudi regarding guidance for preparing my GSoC proposal but may have caught them at a busy time. Therefore, I thought it would be helpful to ask on the developer mailing list as well. I would greatly appreciate any guidance on: 1. Recommended modules or parts of Wayang to study while preparing the proposal. 2. Expectations for the JDBC driver implementation (e.g., supported SQL features, compatibility considerations). 3.
