Argh! Good catch! This one is important. US dates are, to those outside, inconvenient at best, and incomprehensible at worst. Last time I looked at them I had to go ask a friend to help me out. > - Is the "Where" necessary ? Or would "In:" be better ? "Location" would be ideal. > - On the right "About OOo" should be "About Us" or "About OpenOffice.org" * "About Us" conveys *us*, the people, not the softare. If it said "About us" then the logical contents would be things like mission statement, blogs, etc. * "About OpenOffice.org" takes a lot of space, and flows over to the next line, or at least goes behind the arrow. Other than aestetic problems, this makes the box more conspicuous, which is not what we want. However, I see the problem with "About OOo". It relies on foreknowledge of what the acronym OOo means. If possible, it should be avoided. I vote for "About the product". That's 3 characters smaller than "About OpenOffice.org", so it fits on one line without touching the arrow. > - "OOo in the Press" maybe should be simply "Media mentions" ? That's a thought. Do you think most people would understand what that means? > - Beside the OOo logon on the top in nice big letters, how about "Finally a > completely FREE, completely functionaly, office suite" :) I'm not sure we can touch that region of the page. > - maybe change "Visit your local OpenOffice.org Linguistic community" to > "Visit your local linguistic community" ? Perhaps... > - each of the right panels should also have a "more..." link to a page with > more details about "Resources","About", "Events", etc. I don't think so. I can't imagine what I would put behind a "more" link for almost any of those panels. > Very minor points :) > - how about adding template docs to "Resources" ? What do you mean? What are template docs? > - can the "I-bar" cursor on the drop down menues at the right be changed to a > "pointer" ? It's a pointer for me. > - defintiely add to "For Developers" a "Getting Started" and "Where to ask > questions" link But those pages don't exist and no one has volunteered to write them... > - make the footer a bit smaller by removing the "<p>" before "By any use of > this Website" Yes. Keep the user's focus where we want it.
