Exactly, you see that especially for people who's mails are moderated onto the 
lists. They think that they are emailing a dedicated support organization 
(similar to support at commercial companies with proprietary software). In 
this situation they expect to get a reply. 
The best we can do in this situation is to CC: those people and let them know 
that they should reply only to the mailing list and subscribe to the list.

If you have a better way not to loose potential users, and to answer their 
questions I would welcome your input.
