poor Support...it seems we just can't do enough or agree enough about this one ever...

whatever is the next target: support, download etc. it will be somewhat influenced by the front page, will use the same CSS and should have a consistent look and feel.

True.

But I think we are not quite ready to call "cloture," in this debate,

or

even set a firm deadline yet, at least for this phase. As the main
rededisign is for 2.0, the beta for which is end of February, let's
think of a deadline for informal critique (this group) being no later
than 28 January. After that, a review by the project leads--two
weeks--leaving us 14-15 February, or so. (DLS is 7-9 February, other
conferences are also around then.)

hmmm...OK, I still think this might be a rather tight timeframe really considering who currently has access to what etc. I mean really if we're talking about a COMPLETE .org site redo but whatever...

this look reasonable to me.
IMO, we should have improved pages for both Support and Download before 2.0 release.

Agreed.

how about making two teams to work in parallel, one on the Support page and one on Download, with some general common guidelines drawn in this (homepage design) step?

Reasonable. One could create lists or, better yet, ad-hoc forums for
this.

Kay: how do you feel about the idea?

fine with me...we're talking about DC right? Yeah--not my favorite entity that's for sure.

i expect to have a strong candidate for the homepage very soon: the start of splash screen vote is imminent. i expect the vote process to take no more than 2 weeks, so we will have a homepage worthy image.
also, the gallery with promotional buttons should be official online in any moment. an image promoting it is (IMO) homepage worthy.

Great! Also, as we have all mentioned before, it would be nice, if we
have othe homepage graphics, to have some rotation.

Cheers
Louis
