I don't understand what's so unclear about it. The description seems
straight forward to me. I also posted some pseudo-code.

Ok, let's try to break this into simpler problems:

1) Is it possible to step through every HTML tag and hide the <div> tag
which has an id='hide-me' ?

2) Is it possible to tell if a given string contains (say) "hello" as a
sub-string?

If those two things are possible, we should be set. That's, AFAICT, all
that is required.

Best,
