The place for discussions is [EMAIL PROTECTED] It's a working
list, and the discussions have been technical--heavy on css details,
debates on philosophy and practice--actually both fun and informative.

Place to go is [EMAIL PROTECTED]

But there are other initiatives, too:

* Support page is being redone by the Documentation and Marketing
people.

* And To dos page was considered (is being considered). At the moment,
as was pointed out, it is awkward to navigate.
<http://development.openoffice.org/todo.html>. The archives have the
thread on the discussion.

Other key pages that need refreshment:

The javascript download page. A long while ago, Daniel suggested a
nifty way of easing the confusion naive users have when downloading
things: randomize the set of servers per each region. Right now, people
choose a particular server close to them but really it doesn't matter.
(and even if we tell them it doesn't matter some few still get
confused). The page in question is,
<http://download.openoffice.org/1.1.4/index.html>, for instance.

Anyway, the idea was to randomize the set per region. I have no idea
how to do it; perhaps a javascript hack would work. I don't know.

Besides that, the basic Download page could be made even cleaner, i
think. I refer to http://download.openoffice.org/index.html. A few have
taken a try at it. It's already pretty empty but as it is a rather
frequently accessed page, it may stand improvement. You judge.

There are other pages, of course, that need attention. But off the top
of my head those are they.

As to general things... well, I have the style guide as a sort of
perpetual todo. I think it would be *great* to be worked on, especially
by people more savvy than I.

It's here: <http://www.openoffice.org/styles/>. It's very rudimentary,
mainly specifies the colors for tables and tries to provide hints. But
I'd love to move to entirely <div> tags, CSS, and have clear
explanations on how to do things efficiently. If you want to try your
hand at it: please!

:-)

Thanks,
Louis
