I am having trouble figuring out what beta version I should or can get.

For openers, this page is hosed:

http://distribution.openoffice.org/p2p/bittorrent/download.html

The grid is 2/3s' broken. You can get 1.4, but that is all. From what I gather, 1.9.m69 (Beta) isn't current anyway.

As long as we are on the subject, I think the BitTorrent way should be promoted as "the recommended way" - The more people that use it for anything, the more people will use it for everything. This will both reduce the load on mirrors (possibility saving them money) and increase the speed one can get OpenOffice. A few weeks ago, I got 1.4 and 1.9 in 5 and 7 minutes. I think I saw my bandwidth hit 350Kbs, which I am sure was the limit my cable modem would do.

For the FTP mirror's, I would encourage you to A) become a BT seeder too, B) Throttle the FTP server, and include a message that using BT will be much faster. For A, don't bother trying to link the BT system to the FTP mirrors. I examined this, and believe it is more trouble than it is worth.
