I spent this morning doing a template/proposal for you to work on based on all those recent proposals posted in this mailing list. It's mainly a visual design proposal (nothing revolutionary in the code), I haven't yet validated it or looked at the WCAG 1.0 checklists. It was handcoded in Vim with the help of a cup of coffee.

Cool, it's not a bad start.
From an "end user" perspective though, it doesn't Jump Out at me... and really, we're all hoping the new OOo website is *super wow* aren't we. :)
Thinking about it more, is there a way to make it more colorful? Your design layout is pretty good, and it keeps to the blue colors known with OOo and "corporate feel" pretty well, but it seems a bit um... having trouble finding the words here... I keep on thinking "boring" but not sure that's right.
Do you feel you're good at making it more colorful? I reckon you spent a lot of time and effort getting the right blue + half tone grey colors and the layout is decent so I'm trying to picture what my gut feeling is saying is missing.
Not sure if this is helpful, but I'm trying. :)
Regards and best wishes,
Justin Clift
