I think it makes a good contrast. The image of the gulls carring the box is NOT
very professional since it looks too simple and square.
Well, I must say I've not worked my pants of for this image, and no it is not finnished... but it was in no way there to stay for the final, it's a placeholder.
In my opinion I preffer a more human touch related to OpenOffice.org, not just a
cartoonish -- abstract logo. I am more inclined for human pictures, similar to
the ubuntu approach, Unbuntu is about the people not about the bits-n-bytes.
Ubuntu(http://www.ubuntulinux.org/login.jpeg)
Is something I think this community hasn't got and still play around with
vectors and pallettes.
What I think is the problem with adding more human pictures is that people tend to reflect themselfes to the persons... if I see a business man in a suit, it 'll probably scare me, if I see a blonde semi nude diva, I'll think what is this for adolescent joke, if I see childeren I associate it to some organisation organising things for childeren, not at all with a office suite... and imho a great difficulty when you want to use images, though I have to admit Ubuntu (it's my second boot) has done a rather nice job...
But my point is that such photo may say too many words, more than intended.
