Hi all,
Any idea if the animated/visual guide for installing OOo2 on XP was of any use?
I think so, as different people have different learning styles so providing a visual presentation allows for those that prefer to be shown.
No worries. Hoping it will/would be useful to people.
Haven't seen it linked to from the installation page, and haven't received any other feedback about it.
It is there now, see: http://download.openoffice.org/2.0beta/instructions.html
"If you have Windows XP, you may wish to view a flash presentation overview of the download and installation procedure. Note: The presentation does not include checking the integrity of the downloaded file and returns you to the OpenOffice.org home page. At the finish of the presentation click the Back button in your browser to return to this page."
Would it be better to have it return people to the Installation Instructions page? It's very simple to change the URL or indeed add further buttons if people have suggestions.
Not wanting to waste anyone's time, including ours. :)
Apologies for my late reply. I was providing installation instructinos for the Setup Guide and updating the installation instructions on the website, and not properly following this list.
No worries. Wasn't sure, so that's why I followed up.
We'll keep it updated with the various Beta and final releases as they come out, and incorporate suggestions as they come along too. :)
Regards and best wishes,
Justin Clift
