So you might want to hear an outsider's opinion. By saying 'outsider' I
mean someone who hasn't been staring at the new look for hours, so that
he can't see any tiny flaws anymore. There aren't many, though.

First of all interesting coloring. I like the left-hand buttons most.
But the download button has a bit depressing color. How about a little
brighter yellow color? Or something orange? It's ok the way it is now
but I just think it could be better.

It is better now. At least the two buttons on the left and the location
of the download button.

Great. They shouldn't cause confusion anymore. This is imho the most
important change in this new design.

Can you make the download button the same size as the other ones? It
does stand out, but somehow it's a bit distracting. The bigger size
looks like some kind of an error, which I know it isn't.

It's hard to put it the same position (vertically) as the new user
button, though.

Also the button curves, at least in the download button, look slightly
hand-painted. I also think that some extra style could be added with a
slight 3D effect, what do you think?

Whoa, I definitely agree. Why not just make the text dark? The
background is great, I suggest it not to be changed.

(By the way thanks for changing 'New?' to 'New user?'. Now I know what
it is for.)

Could we change the odd looking gray line a bit? Take the shadow image
off and make it a simple 1px line similar to that in the footer?

I saw this presentation box thing being discussed on this list.
Jacqueline had three great suggestions. That's a completely different
story, but I'll quote it here just in case:

My vote goes for the first one.

And finally from branding/css/style.css:

> #f9f8f9 light grey
> #f9cb73 (=inverse of 06348c) ORANGE

These aren't so called 'browser-safe colors' *in case* we're willing to
provide them. Browser-safe colors are ones that look exactly the same
also in 256-color palette. Otherwise they have a very ugly dithering,
making the texts hard to read.
