Note that in Emily's proposal the page is vertically smaller also because the text is super small. It's 69% of what your browser thinks is the default size (I looked at postgresql.com CSS code). Won't that be an accessibility/usability problem, too? I understand what you mean with the scrolling problem, and agree. Maarten can just make the buttons and images smaller.
