How long do you expect this increased load to continue?

At least over the weekend...

I think it's ok by now. Mailing-lists are running with transfer-times
of some minutes like former times. (Was up to 30 hours yesterday
evening)
Website and Issuezilla almost ok with little hickups on logins etc.

There was a backlog of 140K messages that had to be delivered. The cause was not, I understand, related to the load or traffic, but something besides that and minor. It's been fixed.

Overall, load has been... astronomical. CollabNet implemented a cache farm to handle it, but the traffic peaked yesterday at 450 hits/ sec, with 260 MB/sec out from CN servers. I expect the traffic to continue for the next week, though slightly diminished, as more NLC projects announce finished versions of 2.0. The Chinese will announce it Wednesday.

PS thanks all for the terrific work on the emergent bird. It's awesome. I used the adult one b/c it can fly. So can OOo.

But my preference was for the really cute chick. :-)
