Is there any suitable projects at the moment for web design/
development?

The most "designish" part on the OOo webpages is the why.ooo
campaign site that is run from within the marketing project.
http://why.openoffice.org/

I was thinking that the OpenOffice website needed a bit of
updating design wise (maybe in time for v3?). Would anyone else be
interested in helping because i understand that it wouldnt be easy.

The website is limited to plain (x)html and client side scripting (javascript),
other technologies such as PHP or other server-side stuff cannot be used
(unfortunately)

Also we're somewhat limited by the CollabNet framework that assembles the
webpages from files in cvs and templates for the surroundings.

What changes do you have in mind? A complete redesign or slight
improvements here and there?

As a concrete part to contribute that could need your skills of javascript
would be a more user-friendly, "wizard-style" bug-entry page, that doesn't
overwhelm the user with all the fields at once, but asks questions one
at a time. I don't know whether you know GNOME's bugzilla and its simple
bug-entry form - that would be what I have in mind.

There have been some efforts in the past, but they never got to an end
(see http://www.mail-archive.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/msg01829.html )

ciao
Christian
