Hi Christian,
your last sentence frightens me:

And I'm pretty sure that even when we clean up again, it will be overwritten
again
whenever the site is updated.

Otherwise: no risk - no fun.
I suppose we agree that things need to be improved from the current state.

In other words, who can make changes to the css files to change the look

The css files are in the "look" repository, So anybody with access to
that special
project can modify the styles. These include me, Luis, Stefan Taxhet,
Maarten Brewers,
Kay and probably many others.

But it ain't that easy, since on the one hand:
It is a big mess, our efforts to clean it up duing the redesign of the
page a while back
were nullified by the last site-upgrade since collabnet put their
broken defaualts into place
and pulled in the needed OOo modifications to retain the look, instead of doing
it the other way round (start with the cleaned up version, add the
stuff that changed
betwenn CEE versions.

And: The stylesheets are global, so every modification you do will
piss off few or
many users. I did change the fontsize to respect the browser's
font-settings (to fix
the changed fontsize after the site-update), but this change has not
been appreciated
at all by some people, so my changes were reverted back...

And I'm pretty sure that even when we clean up again, it will be overriden again
whenever the site is updated.

ciao
Christian
