One reason i don't like working on OpenOffice source code is because my password is sent in the clear! Bug # http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=26457 has been around for 3 1/2 years. i would like to work on Tablet PC functionality for Windows and Linux, but i lose all motivation when very basic security practices are not in place.
Who operates the servers? Who would be best to talk to about getting a SSL certificate installed? Is there a phone # i can call to have port 443 opened up at collab.net? Examining the source for http://www.openoffice.org/servlets/Login? The following http should be replaced with https: <form id="loginform" action="http://www.openoffice.org/servlets/TLogin"; method="post"> after https is installed and the firewall opened.
