a wild guess: EZLM, the mail management system, unsubscribe people when too many mails to their account bounces. You usually get a "Some mails to your account bounced" message, explaining that if this message and one further probe bounce, too, you will be unsubscribed. I am not sure of the complete procedure, and especially the time frame involved. Perhaps your account was unavailable for some time, plus you missed the notifications mails, and thus have been unsubscribed automatically?
