Although we are working on the new design, this is a quick fix of the
current situation (not a hack). It is ready to be implemented, any comments?

That page has how many buttons? And how many options?
And how many links? Small links? Small Text?
That's definitely not good. Imagine a Windows user having to choose from those
options.
You are asking too much.
Consider splitting the page into:
a "For Windows users" part
and a "UNIX"-part
with some explanatory text, especially for the Windows part.
