This is a little out of our line, but does the advertisement for OO.o on the Sun Java installer look as bad to anyone else as it does to me? Maybe someone in Marketing, and/or someone who understands graphics, should take a look. It's bad enough to scare off customers.

Do you mean this?

(sorry german version)

My main concern about this is the content rather than the graphics. But this is off-topic for this list.

Thank you, yes, the JavaInstall.png, English version, is what I mean. The picture from your link looks fine, as retrieved by Ff. But the live version, on the installer, looked terrible on my WV HP system (wide-screen LCD monitor; nothing exotic).

This was from an automatic update, just last night (10-20). And the previous automatic update looked bad, too. OO.o tells me (Tools > Options > Java) that the latest JRTE it can find is 1.6.0_16.

And yes, as you say (and as I said), this is a bit off-topic for dev-web, but where else can I find people who:
a) are concerned with our external image, and
b) have the graphical expertise to understand the problem (which expertise I lack)?

Sorry that I didn't think fast enough to take a screen-shot of the problem. I can do that, if somebody wants, and can tell me how to coax the installer into action. I've seen this kind of distortion on pictures before, with the printing all broken up; badly scaled, maybe? (Just a guess.)
