Hi Stefan, Ivan,*

since updating the logo on the homepage I forwarded this mail to d...@website

Hi,

zufällig entdeckt: Plötzlich hässliche Striche auf de.ooo.org

suddenly ugly stripes on the homepage (here de.openoffice.org):

Unfortunately I can't view the image - I get a very stretched "site
don't allowed" picture instead.
I copied it to my homepage:
http://www.familie-dippold.at/OpenOffice.org/de.OOo.png

Firefox 3.0.14, Ubuntu 8.10

Mit dem FF 3.5.4 unter Windows sind die Striche nicht zu sehen.

no stripes with Firefox (Windows and Fedora 11 - another mail on d...@de)

Kann es sein, dass mit Einfügen des Einhundertmillionen-Icons am
Stylesheet geschraubt wurde?

Did implementation of the 100 Mio logo modify the stylesheet?

No, the stylesheet hasn't been modified in many months.

Perhaps there is a scaling problem with different display resolutions or a 1
pixel move between the old and the new header/logo?

Hmm.. even if there was a 1px difference, it would not cause noticable
stripes...

Ivan - any idea?

Unfortunately not.. can anyone else reproduce this (and upload a
screenshot)? The image is encoded as a PNG24, so there shouldn't be a
problem across browsers or platforms. The CSS and HTML are unchanged.

Perhaps the screenshot gives you an idea...

As Stefan mentioned on the germanophone list, this doesn't happen with other pages than de.openoffice.org - so perhaps there is something special with the CSS of the DE homepage?

Stefan - do you have another browser on your Ubuntu system?

Best regards

Bernhard
