My guess would be that you are subscribed to a mailing list which notifies changes to issues, and that you are in the \cc field of the issue. That would result in 2 emails on the creation of the issue (one from the ML, one directly to you as the reporter), and three emails when you (or anyone else) modifies the issue (as above, plus one because you are in CC).
