I've been watching the current spam on the OOoWiki, and checking to see
what the spammers are using for registration data - one consistent point
is that a lot of the spam accounts are created using throw-away or
one-time-use email services as their registration email.
With some (a lot actually) help from the MediaWiki mailing list guys,
I've added some code to watch for two of the common throwaway email
services. This can be expanded if necessary by adding to the reg.ex. in
the function.
