I think the "old syntax doc" means to http://weex.apache.org/v-0.10/guide/ which describes *.we files syntax. It's not recommended now but some users still work with it. I found that @DongYun has send a pull request [1] for his suggestions below and I have merged it. But next time it would be better to separate different improvements into different pull requests.
