I've just fixed public_json_common.rb to treat -vm4 as the current whimsy master.
A search for 'vm\d' shows there is another reference to vm3 in https://github.com/apache/whimsy/blob/master/www/secretary/workbench/config.rb#L6 I suspect this should be changed as well?
