Hello Whimsy devs, I am hoping that the ASF Whimsy server can host a survey for Lucene committers to submit their desired choice in being a member of a new Solr TLP. The Lucene committer roster[1] includes 147 people, and so I'm hoping to do it this way instead of manually tallying emails :-) Shane Curcuru informed me that Whimsy can do this, and that I just need to provide a JSON file with the questions and possible answers. I already have it (not in JSON) but it needs a bit of PMC validation, which I am pursuing now.
If you'll excuse an aside commentary here for a bit... The choice of a default opt-in vs opt-out of the separate Solr TLP has become contentious. So for those that do not respond to the survey, I'm going to try my best to reach them to get an explicit response. I imagine we may do a majority PMC vote to decide opt-in / opt-out for the remainder I can't reach. Most of the 147 are very inactive, for sure.
