Thanks for your interest on Woden and I'm willing to provide helps.
You can pickup any open issue and start your development, as a first
step you can check out Woden source from SVN and try to build it
yourself.  This link[1] contains some more details.

BTW in any chance if you are in Sri Lanka there is a free Apache
Community building event within the WSO2Con conference next week (13th
September to 15th September) . WSO2 is a leading and  long-standing
contributor for many Apache projects such as Axis2, Synpase and Woden
too, since most of the active committers of above  projects will
participate to above  community building event it would be great if
you participate and get your hands dirty with Apache projects.
