You should not start working actively on this project (i.e. coding) before it has been accepted. For that to happen a couple of things are required: * The ASF has to be accepted as a participating organization in GSoC (shouldn't be a problem). * My proposal needs to receive sufficient support to be accepted (only a limited number of projects will be funded by Google). * Other candidates may be interested in the project, and I will not assign the project to a student on a first come first serve basis. * The project has a specific requirement (see the second last item in the description) to get "approval" by the Spring-WS community. More precisely the project is not going to happen if the Spring-WS developers have concerns or objections about it.
