Good question. I may skip it. From the end user perspective, very little. The
long history of Axis2 had a preceding Axiom release but it may be time to
redefine that process.

Because of the current unhappiness in the web services TLP, I am not looking
forward to asking for the 3 votes required for a 2.0.1 release.

>From your perspective as the long time maintainer that also distributes Axiom
>to the Spring community, it would be helpful for me to know if you desire a
>release right now and if you want future releases in Web Services or Axis.

If you are looking to end this project and move it into the attic, just let me
know.

> Axis2 will be releasing 2.0.1 soon, and typically there is an Axiom release
> right before it.
> One thing I do notice is that the Axiom compiler settings are for jdk 11.
> One of the key features of Axis2 2.0.1 is the support of openjdk 21 and after
> removing the SecurityManager from the code, we now set the compiler to
> openjdk 17.
> [~veithen] let me know if you have any concerns with upgrading the pom.xml
> from jdk 11 to 17 and support for 21.
