Having rest endpoint within automation framework would be helpful when we do not have access to internet. We developed most of test cases by pointing to external web services which hosted public location. But having restful web service within automation framework does not help to distributed deployment scenarios(as gateway need to connect back to test server). In that case we might need to host them in some public location.
