Hi CD, I believe before any implementation is commenced, it would be great if you could sketch up what and how your are going to present the web based GUI and the functionality, having mock-ups will guide you and make it easier for you to develop front end GUIs. Also, best get the mock up reviewed by a non technical user to understand if the UI is understandable and easy to use. This will reduce redundant work.
