You need to use this p2 repo for rabbitMQ transport :
http://product-dist.wso2.com/p2/extras/releases/4.2.0/rabbitmq-axis2-transport/.
We added this feature for carbon 4.0.2 and later we improved for turing
platform also. The doc still pointing to 4.0.2 p2-repo which is why it did
not work for you. The doc needs to be updated.

No, this is wrong. What is mentioned in there is to copy the jars found
under plugins directory of the p2-repo (ex :
http://product-dist.wso2.com/p2/extras/releases/4.2.0/rabbitmq-axis2-transport/plugins/
).
