The next release after the Servlet API 2.5 was 3.0. So, not sure how this
version range came up. Anyway, the Servlet API 3.0 is said to be fully
compatible to 2.3, 2.4, and 2.5 versions. [1] I couldn't find a reference
for 3.1, but that should probably be backward compatible as well.
