No, this is not intentional.. We are passing that exception for some adaptors that we cannot perform test connection scenario.. In the past, we had event adapters and event formatters as two different components.. At that time to perform Test connection we required some parameters which added in event formatter section (Test Connection button was there in Event adaptor page at that time).. Later, we have merged those event adapter and event formatter pages.. Now, we can perform test connection for above adapters as well.. I think we have missed implementing it when merging those..
Can you please raise a jira.. Then we can fix it on next release..
