Greetings, I am the Apache Xalan C++ GSoC 2012 student. I have been mentored by Steven J. Hathaway through this program.
This summer was very challenging for me, giving me the opportunity of work in a language that I was not an expert and in a good and big project that I had never heard. The great side is that I have been working with qualified people all the time. Steven has been a great mentor, always ready to take my doubts. Thank you Xalan Developer Team, in particular Steven J. Hathaway, for this challenging summer. Steven said me that XALAN projects would be glad to have me to continue my contribution efforts after the GSoC 2012. Then I would like to say that I want to stay in this organization, working with you at least until I finish all the objectives originally planned for GSoC 2012. During the summer, I have worked in the Xalan Dates and Times module. I just have posted the last version at JIRA [XALANC-728<https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/XALANC-728>], file "GSoC-2012-08-20.zip". In this version, all functions described at http://www.exslt.org/date/index.html are already implemented, except date:format-date() and date:parse-date(). There is some files that still need some documentation, but I made the code as clear as I could and I think it is easy to understand. Some functions need to be tested more. Write documentation and tests, futhermore to implement the 2 remaining functions are my new tasks. Sincerely, Samuel Queiroz
