There have been patches in Jira over the years. Provenance unknown
beyond the Jira ID.

If by "Apache JDK" you mean Apache Harmony, then no, since Harmony is
dead. If you mean Xalan, then no.

I have no idea what Oracle does, or Amazon, or Azul, and so on.

My impression is that is the case indeed, at least for Oracle.

If it were not for Mukul's work toward 2.7.3 I would have advocated
moving Xalan-J to the Attic.
