Didn't remember to branch before the next chunk of work... so my pull request, https://github.com/apache/xalan-test/pull/1. now also includes a bunch of work in tests/bugzilla to determine the status of those entries. It should all be comments or (when they were missing) output tests.

I suggest reviewing the pull request in this form, to pull that documentation into the project, and then in a subsequent pass deciding whether each of the tests should be retained for regression testing (and if so, where), discarded (which I strongly recommend for those tests which I've diagnosed as user error), or kept as known open issues.

I think I found only one case that *might* be a known issue which still exists, and that one is probably best considered a feature request rather than bug.
