Vladimir Sitnikov created XALANJ-2668: -----------------------------------------
Summary: Consider using GitHub issues instead of JIRA Key: XALANJ-2668 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/XALANJ-2668 Project: XalanJ2 Issue Type: Task Security Level: No security risk; visible to anyone (Ordinary problems in Xalan projects. Anybody can view the issue.) Components: Xalan Reporter: Vladimir Sitnikov Assignee: Gary D. Gregory GitHub issues integrate better with GitHub PRs. For instance: * Jira uses a different format language, so commenting on PRs and in Jira requires using different format syntax every time. * GitHub Issues recognize "closes ..., fixes ..." in the commit message, so issues could be closed with comments * GitHub Issues can be cross-linked across GitHub. For instance, if someone mentions Xalan's issue or PR in their issue/comment, then GitHub would show cross-references on both sides * GitHub Issues and comments work better for referencing code. For instance, it renders code fragments inline, so when a comment references a bit of code, the readers can directly see it.
