We're still nailing down an edge case, but there's a significant improvement being made in serializer handling of encodings.
The xalan-java Maven build is working, though it doesn't currently embed xalan-test in the distro archive, and it could benefit from some lighter-weight build options. It also doesn't yet automate publishing up to the Maven repository. Between these, I think we're getting close to the point where we should consider a 2.7.4 release.
