Hi,
i'm new to this list, i'm creating a reST (http://docutils.sf.net) to
open document converter and during my analisys of the spec and ooo 2
(beta) i've accumulated some questions i want to ask you and some notes
about the spec.
First the spec's document bugs :-)
At page 604 is written:
15.10 Table Row Formatting Properties
The properties described in this section can be contained within table
column styles (see section
14.12.3) They are contained in a <style:table-column-properties>
element.
This paragraph really should be:
The properties described in this section can be contained within table
row styles (see section
14.12.3) They are contained in a <style:table-row-properties>
element.
a similar error is located at page 605 in Table cell properties paragraph.
Thank for the error reports.
There is a small issue with table names in OOO 2, the OOOWriter
complains if the table name contains spaces, even if the spec says that
table:name attribute is of type "string" which can contain spaces i think
Actually, an OpenDocument implementation may have constrains that are
not part of the specifiaction. That's the case here.
my notes ends here for the moment.. i saw some other errors in the spec
but i forgot where they are :-/
My first question is why even if table styles exists since version 1.1.x
,they are completely absent from the GUI. Anyone knows why? The good
support of styles in ooo2 let an user that is opening a document apply
his personal or corporate styles, but he can stylize tables only one by
one applying a custom format with the AutoFormat feature :-(
OOo does not have Table styles at all. It only supports hard formatting
of tables. However, in the OpenDocument format, hard attributes are
converted into styles.
The last question is if it's really impossible to use "em" measure unit
as stated in xsl-fo spec? Using em can be really useful for paragraph
indents and list indents.
"em" in fact is not supported.
Thanks in advance for your attention and thanks for this grat piece of
work!
Thanks
Michael
Alberto
