        Thank you for the sample, it helps a bit. I can not get the xml save to 
work 
on my linux system.

You have something like file:///c:/instance.xml

I have tried variations like file:///home/dnw/xml/instance.xml 

But if can not get it write (also no error messages).

Can you help ?
