Pressing Enter when editing a shape's text starts a new paragraph. Pressing Shift-Enter inserts a line break. In text box in Excel, both are the same, and we import that one kind of break as a new paragraph.

I don't understand why in a shape's context a line break needs to be interpreted as a paragraph break ? Is there an explanation somewhere why a paragraph has been choose over a line break ?

The reason why this is annoying is because (computer assisted) translation tools that parse OD files create segments at blocs and preserve inline format.

So the OOo implementation choice has a tendency to break sentences in multiple parts, all considered as seperate segments in CAT tools, while a simple line break interpretation would allow the CAT tool to put the sentence together, and if necessary to split it at the line break with segment breaking rules (SRX for example).

Is there a way to change this setting ?
