Also, just now I noticed that in the 2.0 program/classes folder that _both_ an xt.jar and a xalan.jar are present. You are indicating that Xalan is now used by default? How can I test/verify this? (OOo xslt filter debug information is noticeably lacking, i.e. xsl:message or processor debug dump options, so I'm wondering how this is possible.)

Greetz,
At the bottom of http://xml.openoffice.org/ it says that OOo uses the XT parser and was used at least thru ver 1.1.x Has this changed with ver2.0? If so, where is this documented?
thanks much,

Xalan-Java is being used as default.

also if it supports exsl extension functions?

Yes. http://xml.apache.org/xalan-j/extensionslib.html#exslt
