The only reason not to deprecate the XMerge project [1] is that we have
no alternative for the (small device) filters working on that project.
FYI the xmerge.jar is still being delivered with OOo3.x.
Is anybody interested to take a look into the Java XMerge project [1],
still part of OOo 3.0 and move it's functionality with dependent filters
to ODFDOM [2]?
Henrik, wrote the Writer2LaTeX filter based on XMerge and bundled with
OOo 3.x said the following about ODFDOM:
"Thanks for pointing me to ODFDOM; it looks good and certainly seems to
be the framework I was missing when I started Writer2LaTeX. I will
probably switch to that in some future version."
Any interest? I would do it myself, as it important and interesting, but
I am totally booked out by ODFDOM & ODF specification..
