Wing Yew is right, this is a JVM limitation that is difficult to work around,
because one doesn't know how the code is going to be compiled. What XMLBeans
should do is give an option to skip generation of the enumeration class and use
the base type instead; this way one wouldn't need to alter their Schema file to
get classes generated.
