Changing org.apache.xmlbeans.impl.xpath.saxon.XBeansXPath, method selectNodes,
line(s)

DocumentWrapper contextItem =
new DocumentWrapper(contextNode, contextNode.getNamespaceURI(),
config);
appears to restore XPath capabilities for document fragments. The XQuery
adapter
org.apache.xmlbeans.impl.xquery.saxon.XBeansXQuery may require modification as
well.
